We are pleased to announce our new name, Premier Literacy. Although we're still Premier Assistive, you'll begin seeing Premier Literacy taking on a much more visible presence during the coming year.
Since its inception (as Premier Assistive), Premier Literacy has always been committed to providing effective and affordable technology solutions to help a widely varied audience of individuals who have reading and writing challenges. Typically the narrow definition of "assistive technologies" has meant that individuals must meet a level of qualification to be granted access to these technologies, regardless of the vendor. However, in the last 5 years, as the direct result of increased awareness and education in the marketplace and our schools, we have seen a growing recognition of the potential benefits to serve the overall literacy needs of many more individuals who historically would not have had access to these technologies--individuals who need to improve their reading and writing skills to function at a higher level both in school AND in the workplace. With this broadened approach to literacy and our expanded audience, we want to ensure that our name reflects this focus as we strive to help more people than ever before.
At Premier Literacy, you'll still see a comprehensive portfolio of literacy products at an affordable price, still experience pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful customer service and technical support and, of course, you still have our commitment to stay on the leading edge of innovation in this digital age. Look for our new name, but expect the same high quality and service you've come to know.
Premier Literacy is proud to announce that we now offer a Macintosh version of our entire Literacy Productivity Pack of applications.
Kenneth Grisham, President /CEO
of Premier Literacy, states "The obvious importance of the Macintosh to the education arena has been a driving force behind our decision to release a Macintosh version of our core products. We have made significant investments to make sure that our mainstream applications look and perform as well on the Mac as they do in our long-standing proven products for the PC platform."
Dr. Steve Timmer, VP of Research / Chief Technology Officer, further elaborates "We performed extensive analysis and testing of our underlying technologies to ensure that we maintained integrity for the features and functions found in our products, regardless of the operating system. In keeping with our overall pursuit of Universal Design for Learning, we demand that our users have the same positive experience on the Macintosh platform."
Premier Literacy's Macintosh applications will run on any Mac workstation that is based on the Mactel technology. The Literacy Productivity "Mac Pack" contains the following 9 applications:
